Waimea, HI, United States, 96743
The Walk-With-A-Doc program in Waimea happens every Saturday at 8 am! Such a great way to get up, get out and get some Natural Movement steps into your day with others!
Walkers meet at Pukalani Stables (Pukalani St. and Ala Ohia Ala Rd.) in Kamuela. Dr. Natalie Kehau Kong, primary care physician at North Hawaii Community Hospital (pictured below) starts the weekly walk with a brief talk on current health issues facing our community.
The walking program is part of the worldwide “Walk-With-A-Doc” program to encourage physical activity among people of all ages. Walk-With-A-Doc has been in place since 2005 and has over 300 chapters worldwide including three in Hawaii.
Walkers are asked to check with their primary care provider before walking if there are health concerns. No sign-up is required; participants are asked to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring an umbrella as the walk with be held regardless of weather.
