Rain Forest Farm was built for the owner's pursuit of simple, self-sufficient living. Then the owners had to move away and the property has fallen into disrepair. There are lots of weeds but nearly every square inch of the property was planted with food plants: bananas, sweet potatoes, kale, chinese vegetables, taro and too many to list. The owners believe in making a light footprint on the earth and consequently, they use a composting toilet, a small solar electric system, rainwater barrels, simple, basic kitchen, and an outdoor shower. The two structures on the property consist of a solid, two-story wooden building with big open windows and lots of light. This building serves as bedrooms and storage for the farmers and their helpers. There's also a separate kitchen/bath/storage building is towards the rear of the property. The buildings are unpermitted. Currently occupied by a caretaker; please do not disturb.
