If you're looking for toes in the sand, this is the place to go. Lava Lava Beach Club sits along the Kohala Coast with excellent views of Anaeho-omalu Bay. The restaurant seating is open-air, with some seating under cover and some spread out across the beach. The setting of this restaurant is one of the most beautiful in the world. It's a great place to hang out on the beach in Hawaii.
The Restaurant & Bar
The restaurant is always open from 11am to 9pm. They serve their lunch menu from 11am to 3pm and dinner starts at 5pm. You can sit at the bar with your friends and watch the game, which serves up beer and delicious cocktails nightly until 10pm. One of our favorite things about Lava Lava Beach Club is how dog friendly they are. We often bring our two Italian Greyhounds with us to dine. A pro tip: call ahead for a seat. They don't take reservations but you can request to be added to the waitlist. And take my word on it, it can get busy.
Happy Hour & Brunch
This place does two or my favorite things especially well. Sunsets and Happy Hour. We've been for lunch, we've been for dinner, but our favorite time to come is for Happy Hour before the sun goes down. It goes from 3pm to 5pm with special prices on fun drinks, libations and pupus. Also popular… Bloody Mary Sunday Brunch, every Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Grab breakfast (or lunch!) and a Bloody Mary or two.
Live Entertainment
Lava Lava Beach Club features entertainment every night of the week. You can enjoy local Big Island Hawaiian guitar and hula from beginning at 5pm and continuing on into the breezy Hawaiian evening.
The team behind Lava Lava’s is the same team who opened also opened the ever popular Huggo’s in Kona. According to them, their mission is to “create a fun, beachfront venue where visitors can dine, drink, celebrate, or simply revel in the laidback luxury of a contemporary Hawaiian cottage.” Mission accomplished. In addition to drinking and dining you can book one of the 4 cottages on the property. Stay and dine and play on the gorgeous beach in Waikoloa!
