Night Dive with Manta Rays in Kona, Hawaii

Night diving with manta rays in Kona is an epic adventure on the Big Island of Hawaii.

If you are living on Big Island, or planning a vacation, we highly recommend this activity. Kona, Hawaii is home to more than just amazing coffee. It is also home to hundreds of resident manta rays right off the coast. When the sun goes down they are attracted to the bright lights from snorkel or dive boats. The light helps them filter feed in the dark waters, and it also give many lucky people a front row view of these gentle giants. The show happens every night, or at least almost every night. Since we made the move to Hawaii, snorkeling and scuba diving is an activity that we get to enjoy frequently. If we were to choose ONE dive, it would be a night dive with the manta rays. We hope you enjoy some of the amazing footage we got on our last dive. The number or manta rays that you will see on a given night varies. You might see any and you might see a lot. The first time we went we saw 12 and the second time we saw 9. The rays sure know how to put on a spectacular who. We had a great time with Kona Honu Divers on the pretty amazing manta ray encounter. If you have non-divers in your group, the night snorkel with manta rays is also a great time. If you are a family looking for a fun activity on the Big Island, come see these beautiful creatures.

Have you been on a night dive with Kona's graceful manta rays? If so, I would love to hear about your experience. And if you want to know more about living in Hawaii, join the facebook community My Big Island Move. Can't wait to see you out on the water soon. Aloha!
